A beginner's map for getting started with NoCode
Resources and takeaways after spending 1 week diving deep into the No Code space.
Do you not know how to code but-
Want to make a website for yourself?
Had an idea for a product that could be a cool side project?
Want to make a mobile app?
Don't worry. Coding not required.
Takeaways
In the past week, I learnt that:
No code tools help you to create digital products like a personal website or an Airbnb style marketplace through a graphical user interface instead of having to write code.
They do not completely obliterate the need for coding. Complex products cannot run on no code tools alone. But they can help you create an MVP(minimum viable product) of your idea ready to hit the market.
With workflow automation tools like Zapier and Integromat you can automate a lot of repetitive tasks like adding people to specific email lists based on emails received from them, creating calendar events out of form entries and getting notified on Slack every time you have a new paid subscriber.

People to follow
Bram has created many digital products, a few of them working out really well. He teaches what he has learnt about building MVPs through his online course nocodemvp.
This is one of the reasons I started nocodemvp.com! @paulg says: "..building the initial version of your products is a valuable, indeed company-defining, exercise." Anyone can, and should, do that! Not being technical is not an excuse❌ Go! 🚀Searching for a technical co-founder for your startup for a while now? Don’t 🛑 Just use no-code tools and see for yourself if there's enough demand for your idea. And build it in public. That will give you 10x higher change of attracting a CTO
KP @thisiskp_Ben is the founder of the no code education platform Makerpad that got acquired by Zapier earlier this year.
Lacey is co-host of Visual Developers Podcast and also the head of education at Adalo.
Rabbit holes
These are the 3 topics/websites/tools/people that I often came across in my research. These might be worth getting into during another later week:
Spreadsheet to App using NoCode
I don't understand what can an app that is created from spreadsheet do. Spreadsheet is just cells of typed data!
Notion
I thought Notion is a productivity tool that can be used for note taking and project management among other things. But Notion was included in almost everyone's no code stack. It will be interesting to see how it removes the need for coding.
Webflow
Webflow is a popular NoCode tool used for web designing and front end development work. There is no need to know about HTML and CSS because of their drag and drop interface.
Thanks for reading. Best of luck.😃
